• Cracked, broken, or split rubber. Always examine your blades. The rubber should appear smooth.
• Bent blades are not always easy to detect. If you notice contact on one part of your windshield and no consistent wipe trail, you might have a bent blade.
• Lack of contact can sometimes be the problem with poor wiper performance. If you notice at high speeds or during intense rain that your blades are not doing their job, it might be because of poor contact. Not because the rubber is worn.

How to make your wiper blades last longer.

• We don’t see a lot of snow down here in Florida, but if you’re traveling make sure not to use your blades on an icy windshield. This will scratch up your blades and possible scratch your windshield.
• Don’t use your wipers when it is dry. This only wears them down. If you want a quick clean of your windshield use the wiper fluid and then the blades.
• Clean your blades. You never think about cleaning a wiper blade but all that dirt and dust can stick around. A quick wipe down every now and then will help prevent wear and make your wiper blades last!
